Ilona Glinarsky - Author, Founder of Xclaim Entertainment Group, Promoter
Originally from Kiev, Ukraine, Ilona comes from a family of premier entertainers. Her father, Garry Gershgorn, was one of the few pioneers of Jazz in the USSR in the 1960s when this unknown genre was considered avant-garde and a threat to the Communist regime.
A classically trained pianist, Ilona embarked on her entertainment path while still in Junior High School, where she expressed her talent as a musical director and an entertainment coordinator. After emigrating from the Soviet Union in 1979 as a teenager, she continued her education in fine arts and business. Over the recent years, Ilona has expanded her artistic expression further by exploring the art of Latin dance. Her passion and commitment to this newly discovered firm of expression developed into a complimentary career as a Salsa and Argentine Tango instructor. Ilona teaches at 3rd Street Dance (the home of “Dancing with the Stars”) in Beverly Hills, at the South Bay Adult School, Agape International Spiritual Center and at the Music Center in Downtown Los Angeles.
Ilona also holds degrees in Spiritual Psychology and Interior Design. As owner and operator of Life Space Design, an interior design firm, she caters to high-end and celebrity clientele. Ilona’s commitment to excellence and her vision to bringing beauty, creativity and inspiration into people’s environment and into their lives, becomes evident in all of her endeavors.
As a gifted and conscious entrepreneur, Ilona is always seeking opportunities that combine her creative sensibilities and passions, her personal mission to make a wold a better place, and her drive for success. Her most recent ventures are Xclaim Entertainment Group where she is co-founder and partner with master drummer Gerry Brown and writing a series of books featuring stories of world-class musicians/sidemen and photography by Rob Shanahan, celebrating world-class sidemen: “On That Note…Sidemen Tell Their Side” ( Copyright © 2007.
